Ethereality | The Corridors at Hotel Henry
Ethereality: Ethereality is an ethereal world created by delicate and refined cuts. In this work, I take a generic everyday building material, Tyvek, and transforms it into an intricate and fluid work. While cutting the large-scale panels, I do not draw the interconnected shapes out first rather each cut informs the next. The designs and cuts are rooted in shapes found in nature, and in this case in the historic tile floor that lines the Hotel Henry’s corridor. Ethereality consists of six panels to transform the corridor space into a place that feels other worldly through light, color, and shadow play.
I invite you to step inside, look closer, and perhaps see something new.
